The Compute Engineering Team manages the firm's enterprise compute environment, including 7,000+ Linux/Windows servers and 1,000+ virtualization hosts. The team is driving next-generation infrastructure, hybrid cloud maturity, and operational efficiencypowered heavily through Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (AAP). About the Role
We're seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to own and evolve our Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform. You'll design, operate, and enhance AAP to improve reliability, consistency, and automation velocity across the enterprise. What You'll Do
Administer AAP (Automation Controller, Private Automation Hub, Execution Environments, Automation Mesh). Lead installation, upgrades, patching, lifecycle management, and HA/DR design. Manage RBAC, credentials, SSO/LDAP, and approval workflows. Implement observability and partner with SRE on logging/monitoring. Develop automation standards, reusable roles/collections, and manage EE builds (Podman). Integrate AAP with Satellite, hardware management, virtualization, cloud, and ITSM systems. Support automation across Linux, Windows, and virtualization environments. Provide troubleshooting, diagnostics, and partner onboarding support. Participate in a 247 on-call rotation. **Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office four days per week effective June 1, 2026. Qualifications
5+ years administering Linux systems (RHEL preferred); Windows experience a plus. Deep expertise with Ansible and Ansible Automation Platform. Experience with virtualization platforms and container tooling (Podman). Understanding of server hardware, storage, networking, and replication. Proficiency in Python, Bash, PowerShell, and YAML. Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions. Strong communication and documentation skills. Experience designing, testing, implementing, and troubleshooting complex systems.
