POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The St. Joseph Hospital House is home to the nuns who previously worked at the Hôtel-Dieu. We are currently seeking a dining room server.
This is a permanent, full-time position (40 hours per week), with daytime hours from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and one weekend out of two.

ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Bring plates to tables and provide personalized service
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure good teamwork
• Contribute to the teams efforts to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and dinning room(s)
• Greet residents in the dining room and ensure they are comfortable
• In cooperation with the kitchen staff, prepare daily and à la carte menus and answer residents' questions regarding meals and preparation
• Perform other related duties
• Take orders, noting specific requests and following-up with the kitchen staff

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1 year of relevant experience will be considered an important asset
• Knowledge of senior living residences is an asset
• knowledge of a Maitre D's responsibilities (an asset)
• Experience in high-volume catering
