**Facility**Cape Fear Valley Medical Center**Location**Fayetteville, North Carolina**Department**EPIC**Job Family**Information Technology**Work Shift**Days (United States of America)**Summary**Develop and support complex operational, analytical and strategic reporting and analytics solutions for information consumers simplifying access to information. Working in close coordination with Application Subject Matter Experts, Cogito Project Manager and Business Analyst to develop understanding of financial and clinical workflows, business process flows and data relationships and operates in all phases of a Business Intelligence development life cycle which incorporates requirements definition, design, report development and deployment as well as support.# **Major Job Functions**The following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job.

In addition, specific functions may change from time to time:* Work with Epic Hosted ETL developers to determine report and data design strategies* Develop reporting and analytics solutions for CFVH's electronic health record (EHR) system by gathering business needs, documenting requirements, identifying appropriate data sources, developing reports and datasets, and delivering them to stakeholders or Business Analyst* Work with Application Subject Matter Experts and Business Analyst to identify and understand source data systems* Look for opportunities to improve current processes or find efficiencies by applying industry best practices for BI development* Work on security setup and maintenance, tool administration, and data modeling* Develop and implement Cogito/Tableau/ PowerBI application documentation and training materials* Maintain communication with management and users during development or maintenance cycle* Work as part of the Data Governance Team to review, test, and evaluate reports, queries, dashboards, and analytical tools developed by teammates prior to moving to production* Develop or assist in the creation of project time estimates* Provide post implementation support of user questions and fine tuning of processes* Collect requirements and specifications to aid BI Director in prioritization and resource allocation* Coordinate users' activities during application development and maintain data and system integrity* Maintain knowledge on current computer hardware and software technology* Other duties as assigned# **Minimum Qualifications**The following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:## **Education and Formal Training**:* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, Health Information Management or Statistics required **OR** 8 years’ experience in lieu of formal education will be considered* Epic certification required **OR** if not currently certified in Cogito Fundamentals, Epic Clarity and Epic Caboodle, must obtain Epic certification within 3 months of training and must pass all certification exams with a passing grade within three attempts for each test from each class required## **Work Experience**:* 5 years of experience in a healthcare related organization required* 5 years of demonstrated expertise in MS SQL Server required**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required**:* Demonstrated flexibility with respect to changing end-users needs* Advanced Proficiency in SQL, Python, Visual Studio, Tableau, PowerBI, Microsoft Fabric* Knowledge of data warehouse concepts, data structures and reporting* Demonstrated knowledge of Architecture Design leveraging OneLake, Lakehouse and Data Warehouse components* Familiarity with Pipeline Engineering, ability to design scalable data integration and orchestration using Fabric Data Factory and Synapse Data Engineering* Demonstrates knowledge of Governance and Security and the use of Microsoft Purview is a plus* Extensive knowledge of best practices regarding reporting, workflows, policies, procedures, systems and culture in the healthcare environment* Strong analytical, problem-solving and metadata skills* Ability to translate business questions and requirements into reports, views, and BI query objects* Experience in gathering, documenting, prioritizing and tracking requirements* Strong organizational skills and customer service orientation* Demonstrated experience synthesizing and analyzing large data and making program recommendations based on that data is required* Excellent written and communication skills explaining complex quantitative models to business stakeholders, management and executives* High functioning team skills, including active listening, rapport building, receiving and delegating work assignments* Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams preferred**Physical Requirements**:* Ability to work independently, in a remote or office setting* May require flight travel to Verona, Wisconsin* Ability to see and read reports and computer display terminals* Manual dexterity to keypunch data via keyboard* May require extended periods of sedentary work and extended working hours to meet stated objectives**Required Licenses and Certifications**Cape Fear Valley Health System is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/Disability/Veteran/Sexual Orientation/Gender IdentityFor exceptional healthcare come to Cape Fear Valley Health where caring employees are committed to integrity, patient-centeredness and excellence throughout the entire healthcare process.
