Project Engineer (Water & Utilities)

Due to significant growth and exciting new projects, TOBIN is seeking experienced Project Engineers to join our Water & Utilities Division in Galway. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on high-profile projects across design-build, wastewater treatment, water network modelling, drainage systems, and more.

As a Project Engineer at TOBIN, you will play a key role in delivering innovative and sustainable solutions for water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, liaise with clients and authorities, and ensure projects meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance.

• Education:
  
• Level 8 Honours Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (or equivalent)
  
• Actively working towards or planning to achieve Chartered Membership of Engineers Ireland
  
• Experience:
  
• Typically 4–8 years’ relevant experience in water and utilities projects
  
• Strong technical knowledge in areas such as:
  
• Water and wastewater network design
  
• Drainage and stormwater systems
  
• Water network modelling
  
• Design-build project delivery
  
• Technical Skills:
  
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D (and willingness to develop 3D/BIM skills)
  
• Familiarity with software such as Civil 3D, Causeway Flow, ArcGIS, and other relevant tools
  
• Understanding of Irish Building Regulations, Eurocodes, and Health & Safety legislation
  
• Other Skills:
  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities

• Prepare and review detailed engineering designs, drawings, and specifications
  
• Liaise with clients, Uisce Éireann, TII, and local authorities for approvals and submissions
  
• Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with design and BCAR requirements
  
• Provide technical support during construction and assist with snag lists and certification
  
• Prepare engineering reports, feasibility studies, and planning submissions
  
• Support senior engineers and project managers in client relationship development
  
• Ensure adherence to QA/QC procedures and ISO standards
