• Lead multiple teams in designing, implementing, and owning high and low level system components to make Aurora Database highly available, scalable, reliable and fast.
  
• Hire, build and mentor your team; harmonize operational responsibilities with innovation.
  
• Translate high-level technical requirements into executable project plans and drive delivery.
  
• Collaborate with product and program management to define and deliver software features and architecture.
  
• Lead engineering efforts in distributed systems, query processing and optimization, concurrency, and performance engineering.

• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and live-site operations.
  
• Experience in engineering team management.
  
• Experience partnering with product and program management teams.
  
• Several years of hands-on experience leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services.

• Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy.
  
• Experience in recruiting, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of software engineers to improve their skills and effectiveness.
