POSITION SUMMARY
The Microsoft Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and data architecture solutions to drive business insights and innovation. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy, availability, scalability, and performance. Your expertise will drive our data strategy, including the migration of on-prem data systems to Microsoft Fabric and the creation of a new data warehouse to support reporting from Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management (F&SCM) and other source systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Data Architecture Design: Develop and maintain a scalable, efficient, and secure data architecture utilizing Azure services, SQL Server, Dynamics 365, and Power Platform.
Data Integration: Design and implement data integration solutions, leveraging Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Link, Logic Apps, and Power Automate to ensure seamless data flow across systems.
Data Modeling: Create and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models, ensuring they align with the overall data strategy and business requirements.
Database Management: Provide recommendations for database design, performance tuning, and optimization for SQL Server and Azure SQL Database environments. Develop and maintain data models, schemas, and stored procedures to support reporting and analytics. Ensure data is stored efficiently and securely, with appropriate backup and disaster recovery strategies.
Data Governance: Establish and enforce data governance policies to ensure data quality, consistency, and security across all data systems.
Performance Tuning: Continuously monitor and optimize data systems and data pipelines for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions.
Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation for data architecture, including design specifications, data dictionaries, and operational procedures.
Innovation: Stay current with industry trends and best practices in data architecture and recommend improvements to enhance data management capabilities.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve data-related issues, providing timely support to ensure data availability and reliability.

REQUIREMENTS: EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Data Architect/Data Engineer, with a strong focus on the Microsoft technology stack.
Deep expertise in Azure services, including Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, and Azure Data Factory.
Proficiency in SQL Server, including performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization.
Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and best practices.
Experience with data modeling tools and methodologies, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Scala, or similar.
Familiarity with Dynamics 365 and Power Platform, including Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Relevant certifications in Azure Data Services or similar technologies are a plus.
