Your Role
As a Service Engineer – Test Systems, you will support our photonics and semiconductor test systems both on customer sites across Europe and inhouse- at our Augsburg location.
This role combines hands on Technical Service, Customer Service facing responsibilities, and structured documentation. You will act as the main technical interface during on-site visits while supporting internal technical operations and close collaboration with engineering teams.
Your Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and start up photonics and semiconductor test systems at customer sites
- Provide hands-on- electrical and mechanical support during installation, troubleshooting, and repairs
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues on-site to minimize downtime
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings
- Perform preventive maintenance and corrective service work
- Support customers in operating the equipment, including basic training and guidance
- Act as the primary technical contact during on-site service assignments
- Perform in-house technical activities such as system checks, preparation, basic assembly, and verification
- Prepare, maintain, and update service reports, technical documentation, and internal records
- Ensure a structured, well organized- documentation of all service activities
- Coordinate with R&D and engineering teams in Germany and Taiwan on complex technical topics
- Provide clear feedback from the field to support continuous product and process improvement
- Collaborate closely with sales, service, and product teams to enhance customer experience
Your Profile
• Degree or vocational background in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a comparable field
• Strong hands on experience with both electrical and mechanical systems
• Experience in installation, commissioning, and service of complex technical equipment
• Ability to work independently at customer sites and collaboratively within international teams
• Structured and well organized working style with high attention to detail
• Experience with technical documentation and reporting
• Confident in reading technical drawings, circuit diagrams, and schematics
• Strong problemsolving skills and a Customer Oriented Mindset
• Willingness to travel frequently across Europe and occasionally to our HQ in Taiwan
• Valid driver's license
• Fluent English required; German and/or Chinese is a strong advantage
