Overview Paychex is looking for high‑energy, driven professionals to join our Sales Development organization. Sales Development Representatives focus on targeted prospecting to create sales opportunities for selling partners. Consult with potential clients, leveraging expertise in Paychex product and services to enable clients to thrive using Paychex services that meet their specific needs.
Responsibilities
Advance Partners, a Paychex‑backed financial services firm founded in 1998 and based in Cleveland, OH, empowers staffing agencies with payroll funding, invoice factoring, back office support, and strategic services. Serving 600+ firms with nearly $8 billion annually, they offer flexible capital, compliance expertise, and growth‑focused advisory tailored to the talent acquisition industry.
After training, the person who fills this role will work in one of the local offices listed in the posting and may then work a hybrid schedule of 3 days in the office and 2 days at home if desired.
Shift is Monday – Friday, approx. 8:00 am – 5:00 pm ET (hours in other time zones may be adjusted).
Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the US; Paychex is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time. Candidates for this role may not be located in CA, and this position is available for US‑based applicants only.
Generate appointments for sales representatives through daily outbound targeted telephone sales.
Generate appointments for sales representatives through marketing or other competitive list reach outs, often using technology and enrichment platforms.
Partner with selling and service representatives to educate them on Advance Partners & Alterna product offerings.
Articulate competitive advantages by highlighting our differentiators and possess expertise in the overall value proposition to prospects and partners to keep them engaged.
Effectively manage open opportunities and maintain data updates within the CRM to ensure an effective pipeline is being nurtured and followed up on.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree - Preferred
H.S. Diploma - Required
1 year of experience in lead generation or a blend of sales experience and business coursework
Ability to travel to trade shows 1 – 3 times per year as needed
Compensation In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay for this position is approx. $20.00 – $25.00 per hour depending on experience and location. Please keep in mind that this is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
