Prime Video is entering a new era where we’re no longer satisfied having the most number of streaming customers or having the largest selection of content for our customers. We want to be the default entertainment hub for customers worldwide. In order to realize this vision, Prime Video’s Global Video Supply Chain has been hard at work over the last three years reinventing, simplifying, and scaling the underlying content platform. As we enter the final stages of completing the prior three‑year vision, we are seeking a Platform Leader who can create and drive the next chapter of our journey.
As a Software Development Manager, you will grow the existing team, hire and develop software, quality and data engineering leaders and engineers in building the next generation content and data platform. You will work on developing the systems and strategies used by Amazon worldwide and will regularly interact with senior leadership. You’ll also work with engineering, business, and operations teams worldwide to define organization roadmaps, drive execution of technology projects, drive operational excellence initiatives, and manage technology operations. You’ll build, manage, and mentor a high‑performing engineering team toward achieving a focused mission.
To accomplish this, you will need an established background in building highly scalable systems and system design, excellent people and program management skills, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast‑paced environment. You should enjoy working on complex system software, be customer‑centric, and feel strongly about connecting customer problems through underlying scalable software that raises the bar on customer and operational goals. Experience with building and operating web‑based applications and/or web services applications at massive scale will be very applicable and helpful.

About the team This role manages all of the offer distribution for Prime Video.
Basic Qualifications
7+ years of working directly within engineering teams
5+ years of leading development of applications backed by AWS services or using other cloud based technologies and services
3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
3+ years of engineering team management experience
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
Experience partnering with product or program management teams
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of software engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
Experience managing a team of high calibre software engineers developing complex, world‑class, scalable software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
Compensation and Benefits Base salary range: $184,900 - $250,200 USD annually (Culver City, CA & Seattle, WA).
Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
