Position Applications Engineer – Automation
Location: Houston, Dallas, or Midland, TX.

What You Will Do
Provide technical and sales support for the Automation Product Lines, including the 8000 series well site automation controllers and Smarten Unify controller.
Facilitate technical training of field representatives on all aspects of all automation, with emphasis on Unify and 8000 series controllers; plunger lift, and gas lift products.
Provide technical installation and support for Unify and 8000 series pilots.
Assist with sales support in quoting, configuration, ordering, tracking, customer integration, and installation.
Communicate the needs of targeted customers internally and collaborate with other groups to formulate solutions, new products, and actions needed to support the Unify product line.
Compile and present technical papers to promote PCS Ferguson/SLB products and services.
Execute field testing of products and systems performed by field staff.
Perform advanced troubleshooting of complete automation systems including interfaces to third‑party devices.
Operate flow control valves via ItoP and PID loop configuration and set‑up.
Contribute to the department’s continuous improvement culture.
Other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or an equivalent accredited degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
4 years of similar work or engineering experience.
Advanced knowledge of third‑party communications systems such as Airlink, MDS, FreeWave, etc., including the use of their configuration applications and various third‑party hosts such as XSPOC, Wonderware, Cygnet, etc., with emphasis on interface to PCS controllers.
Experience with plunger lift, GAPL/PAGL optimization preferred.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
Ability to travel up to 25%.
