CAD / CAM Programmer

We are presently recruiting for a CAD / CAM Programmer for our County Kerry Based Clients. You will be responsible for reviewing engineering drawings, creating CNC programs using CAD/CAM software, generating cutting lists, and scheduling machine work. Reporting to the Drawing Manager, you will liaise with operators, troubleshoot issues, optimise material use, update production records, and ensure all output meets quality standards while supporting efficient, accurate fabrication processes daily. This is a permanent position with the option for remote work once you can commit to travel to Killarney when business needs require.

Responsibilities:

• Programme CNC cutting machinery to ensure precision, efficiency, and adherence to production schedules
• Generate and manage cutting lists for plasma, laser, and CNC drilling operations
• Interpret and process engineering drawings using CAD/CAM software (e.g., Lantek)
• Convert technical drawings into machine-ready formats for production use
• Develop and maintain Excel-based documentation to support planning and workflow tracking
• Collaborate with machine operators and production teams to ensure smooth operations
• Ensure all outputs meet customer specifications and internal quality standards
• Optimise material usage to reduce waste and improve cost efficiency
• Maintain accurate records of drawings, revisions, and programming data
• Work cross-functionally with drawing, programming, and fabrication departments

Experiences:

• Hold a relevant qualification in CAD/CAM, AutoCAD, or a related discipline
• Demonstrate experience with CNC, laser, or plasma programming (preferred)
• Possess strong ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings with strong numerical accuracy. xcfaprz
