Financial Controller

A leading European company supplying customers across Ireland, the UK, and international markets is seeking to appoint an experienced Financial Controller on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

The Financial Controller will have full responsibility for the financial management, control, and reporting of the site. This role will act as a key business partner to the Site Leadership Team, providing financial insight, driving performance, and ensuring robust financial governance in line with Group standards.

• Full responsibility for monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and variance analysis
  
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in line with Group deadlines
  
• Maintain strong internal controls and compliance with Group accounting policies
  
• Lead year-end statutory accounts preparation and liaise with external auditors
  
• Lead the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes
  
• Provide detailed financial analysis and commentary to support operational and strategic decisions
  
• Monitor site KPIs, margins, and cost drivers, identifying risks and opportunities
  
• Support capital expenditure appraisal, tracking, and post-investment reviews
  
• Act as a trusted financial advisor to the Site Manager and senior operational teams
  
• Constructively challenge performance and support continuous improvement initiatives
  
• Translate financial data into clear, actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders
  
• Manage and support the site finance team, promoting high standards and continuous development
  
• Allocate workload and ensure effective delivery of finance function objectives
  
• Ensure compliance with tax, regulatory, and Group reporting requirements
  
• Support internal audits and implement agreed recommendations
  
• Drive best practice in financial processes and systems

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)

• Significant post-qualification experience, ideally in a manufacturing, or similar operational environment
  
• Proven experience in financial control, management reporting, and business partnering
  
• Strong understanding of cost accounting and operational finance
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  
• Commercially minded with the ability to influence and challenge at senior level
  
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  
• Hands-on, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced site environment
