Location: Ideal candidates will be located or willing to relocate to one of the following US Central Region offices: Overland Park, KS (Kansas City); Chicago, IL; Bloomington, MN (Minneapolis); Dallas, TX; Austin, TX; Houston, TX; College Station, TX.
Salary Range: $103,987.00 - $201,080.00.
Key Responsibilities
Continue developing knowledge and provide guidance on design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes, and B&V policies. Provide technical guidance to others regarding projects and disciplines.
Independently apply knowledge and comply with B&V quality program relative to assigned tasks; support continuous improvement and change management efforts.
Prepare engineering deliverables for larger or multiple projects; conduct research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection; manage data collection, assimilation, and management for engineering work; prepare engineering calculations following standard methods and principles.
Prepare and manage assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements; apply advanced engineering techniques and analysis methods; delegate appropriate tasks to lower level team members; review their work; lead production teams; coordinate multiple discipline activity; serve as the responsible charge for a project.
Coordinate with internal and external team members on moderately complex projects.
Assist with identification of key client interests and drivers on high voltage substation projects; communicate these to project team members and develop approaches to accommodate concerns.
Provide support to business development or pursuit activities and may offer other services to clients.
Act as a technical specialist, provide consultation and guidance to project teams in a particular practice area; design a complete project or support multiple projects on complex technical challenges; foster knowledge management; mentor; develop and apply advanced engineering concepts and approaches to unique engineering problems.
Assist with performance management process, mentoring, recognition, corrective actions; participate in career planning and learning and development; mentor lower level professionals and identify successors for their roles.
Assist with resource management strategy; may have responsibility for engineering resources for small groups of a single discipline.
Administrative responsibilities: ensure policies, procedures and processes are effectively implemented and communicated for work group; ensure adherence to corporate and division programs; approve timesheets and expense reports.
Preferred Qualifications
Substation QA/QC Reviews – Quality Assurance/Quality Checks.
Substation design experience – Physical and/or Protection & Controls.
Experience coordinating and communicating with clients, multidisciplinary leads, and project managers.
Professional Engineer (PE) License.
Proficient with Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office Programs (Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.).
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited program.
Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
