This role provides exposure to multiple cybersecurity disciplines including security monitoring, threat analysis, vulnerability management, identity security, and incident response.

is an energetic, multi‑tasking, enthusiastic self‑starter with an emphasis on the customer experience. Work Schedule This position requires full‑time, in‑office attendance during the initial six (6) months of employment to support onboarding and training.
Following successful completion of the training period, the position may transition to a hybrid schedule consisting of three (3) days per week in the office and two (2) days per week working remotely, subject to operational needs and supervisor approval. Employees working remotely are required to maintain availability and must be able to respond to urgent IT matters within one (1) hour and may be subject to change at any time.
This position will require the successful completion of a Criminal Justice Information Services fingerprint and background clearance within 90 days of employment; this must be maintained throughout employment.
Typical Duties Security Monitoring and Investigation
Monitor enterprise security systems and review alerts indicating potential security threats or policy violations
Investigate suspicious system, network, and authentication activity
Review and analyze reported phishing emails or suspicious activity
Document findings and escalate confirmed threats according to established procedures
Threat Detection and Analysis
Review threat intelligence sources for indicators relevant to the County environment
Analyze unusual patterns or activity that may indicate attempted compromise
Assist in identifying emerging risks and recommending mitigation strategies
Vulnerability Management
Monitor reported vulnerabilities affecting County systems
Assist with tracking remediation and patching activities across IT divisions
Coordinate with system owners to address identified security risks
Security Operations Support
Validate operational status of enterprise security systems and monitoring platforms
Maintain records of security events, investigations, and mitigation activities
Support investigation of suspected security incidents or policy violations
Security Program Support
Assist with security awareness initiatives and employee education efforts
Participate in periodic security reviews and access audits
Support external assessments and compliance activities
Participate in incident response exercises and after‑action reviews
Administrative and Operational Support
Maintain internal security documentation and procedures
Track security‑related tasks, incidents, and requests through the County ticketing system
Coordinate with IT divisions to support implementation of security improvements
Essential functions of this position include but are not limited to: walking; working with and around other staff and County employees; dealing with interruptions; repetitive motion (hand‑wrist) for keyboarding; vision‑acuity (near) for monitoring PC screen data; colour vision required for working with color‑coded cables; hearing and speech (ordinary conversation) for communicating with staff and customers; touch (finger dexterity) for keyboarding. Environmental hazards include electrical hazards associated with working with computers, servers and circuits, and potential for falls from ladders.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in communications, computer science, information processing or a related field and four years of information technology experience including two years managing large‑scale, complex information technology security requirements including writing, implementing and maintaining security policies and development managing disaster preparedness/recovery plans; OR
Associate Degree in communications, computer science, information processing or a related field and five years of information technology experience including two years managing large‑scale, complex information technology security requirements including writing, implementing and maintaining security policies and development managing disaster preparedness/recovery plans; OR
Six years of information technology experience including two years managing large‑scale, complex information technology security requirements including writing, implementing and maintaining security policies and development managing disaster preparedness/recovery plans; OR
Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
Additional Requirement Must obtain an Arizona driver’s license by date of hire and maintain it throughout employment. Final job offer will be contingent upon a satisfactory 5‑year Arizona Motor Vehicle Report.
This position is safety sensitive – driving.
This position is non‑exempt from overtime.
