NYC-Based Role - No Exceptions
This position requires being based in the New York City area with 3 days/week in our office. In-person interview required.
We’re growing fast—and we’re building a world‑class R&D organization in the U.S. to scale our global impact. This is an opportunity to become a part of a critical function at the ground floor of that expansion.
We’re looking for a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to join and scale our U.S.-based DevSecOps function. You’ll join a small team, focused on DevOps tasks in security‑related areas. You’ll be pivotal in designing, implementing and maintaining our cloud infrastructure, especially the security parts of it. You’ll partner closely with the larger DevOps organization along with Engineering, Security, and IT teams globally to ensure Gong’s systems are secure, scalable, and high‑performing.
As one of the foundational members in our U.S. R&D team, you’ll shape not only the infrastructure but also the culture and processes that support Gong’s next phase of expansion and innovation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Help design, deploy, and continuously improve secured, scalable, and reliable cloud infrastructure (primarily AWS).
Contribute to the design and implementation of best security practices and tooling for CI/CD, monitoring and developer experience.
Automation & Streamlining: Help automate and streamline our operations and processes, enhancing efficiency and reducing manual intervention.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work closely with all major stakeholders in the company, including R&D, Security, Product, and more, to ensure seamless integration of DevOps practices.
Impactful Contribution: Play a major part in shaping the company’s cloud strategy, focusing on innovation and long‑term success with security considerations in mind.
QUALIFICATIONS
BS in Computer Science or related field.
3+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability, or Platform Engineering roles.
Proven track record of building and operating scalable cloud environments (AWS preferred).
Deep understanding of infrastructure‑as‑code and GitOps methodologies (Crossplane, Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi).
Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD, CircleCI).
Extensive experience with running Kubernetes and container orchestration in production.
A solid understanding of computer networking fundamentals, REST architecture, and cloud security concepts.
Familiarity with vulnerability scanning and management tools.
Experience implementing security automation in CI/CD pipelines.
Background in container security and Kubernetes security best practices.
Experience working in a Java‑based environment.
One or more security‑related certifications (CKA, CISSP, CEH, Security+, or similar).
Hands‑on experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, etc.).
Experience working in fast‑paced, high‑growth SaaS or product environments.
Bonus: Experience working in a hybrid/global team across time zones.
Willing to travel internationally from time to time.

The annual salary hiring range for this position is $168,000 - $205,000 USD.
Compensation is based on factors unique to each candidate, including, but not limited to, job‑related skills, qualification, education, experience, and location. At Gong, we have a location‑based compensation structure, which means there may be a different range for candidates in other locations. The total compensation package for this position, in addition to base compensation, may include incentive compensation, bonus, equity, and benefits. Some of our sales compensation programs also offer the potential to achieve above‑targeted earnings for those who exceed their sales targets.
