Über
Applications Engineer Responsibilities
Configure and design data center cooling systems, including chillers, CDUs, Fan Walls, CRAC and CRAH units, and LiquidRack systems, based on customer requirements.
Oversee the pre‑sales process, including site evaluations, customer presentations, technical walkthroughs, and proposal development.
Collaborate closely with sales teams to develop and deliver technical presentations that effectively communicate system capabilities and benefits to potential customers.
Provide technical support to sales representatives and customers during the pre‑sales phase, ensuring optimal system configuration and design.
Conduct site assessments as needed to ensure proper system sizing and configuration for data center cooling needs.
Prepare and review technical documentation, including specifications, drawings, and proposals.
Assist in the development of technical sales tools and resources, including case studies, white papers, and application notes.
Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive products.
Participate in training sessions, industry conferences, and customer meetings as required.
Qualifications
Engineering degree required, Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 2 - 5 years of experience with a data center HVAC manufacturer.
Proven experience conducting technical presentations and customer site walk‑throughs.
In‑depth knowledge of HVAC systems and data center cooling technologies, including liquid cooling and air handling units.
Proficiency in CAD software and data center modeling tools.
Excellent technical writing and documentation skills.
Experience conducting technical presentations and customer site walk‑throughs.
Ability to manage pre‑sales system design, configuration, and documentation processes.
Frequent travel required to customer sites, data centers, or partner facilities—travel may include overnight or extended stays.
Depending on the candidate’s location, this role may be remote. Local candidates are expected to work on‑site at our South Carolina headquarters.
Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, including during on‑site facility tours.
