Job Overview As a Senior Analyst, Merchandise Analytics at Bob’s Discount Furniture, you will play a critical role in driving data-informed merchandising decisions that enhance product performance, assortment strategy, and overall business profitability.
You will leverage advanced analytics to uncover insights related to sales trends, customer behavior, and product performance, partnering closely with merchandising, pricing, and cross‑functional teams to influence strategic decisions.

Merchandise & Business Analytics
Analyze sales, margin, and product performance across categories
Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to optimize assortment and inventory
Data Analysis & Visualization
Leverage data tools (Excel, BI platforms, SQL, etc.) to extract and interpret large datasets
Develop dashboards and reporting to monitor key performance metrics
Strategic Insight & Decision Support
Translate data into actionable recommendations for merchandising strategies
Support assortment planning, product lifecycle decisions, and promotional effectiveness
Customer & Market Insights
Analyze customer purchasing behavior to inform merchandising decisions
Monitor market trends and competitive landscape
Financial & Operational Acumen
Understand key retail metrics (sales, margin, turn, GMROI, etc.)
Evaluate business performance and recommend improvements aligned to financial goals
Process Improvement & Automation
Identify opportunities to streamline reporting and analytics processes
Improve data accuracy, accessibility, and efficiency
Preferred Competencies & Skills
Advanced proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools
Experience with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
SQL or data querying experience preferred
Retail, merchandising, or consumer analytics experience
Experience working with large datasets and cross‑functional teams

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Analytics, or related field or equivalent experience
3–5+ years of experience in analytics, merchandising, or related field
Work Environment
Primarily remote with flexibility
Frequent collaboration via virtual tools
Occasional travel to Manchester, CT and/or stores as needed
Physical Demands
Ability to sit, stand, and work on a computer for extended periods
Ability to move throughout store environments as needed

Expected Base Pay $80,000 - $100,000
