What we’re looking forWe are seeking a skilled and proactive Mid–Senior Database Developer to join our growing data team who is passionate about data and leveraging cutting-edge technologies to drive business insights and decision-making. In this role, you will play a key part in developing and optimizing our data infrastructure, supporting business intelligence initiatives, and helping deliver insights through high-quality data visualizations.
Main Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts across Postgres, Redshift, and other platforms.
- Design and maintain scalable and efficient database schemas, including tables, views, and indexes.
- Build and manage data models to support analytics and reporting use cases.
- Implement and maintain database unit tests using appropriate testing frameworks to ensure code quality and reliability (e.g. tSQLt, pgTAP, pytest).
- Participate in peer code reviews and help define and enforce database development best practices.
- Gather and analyze business requirements to design wireframes and concepts for dashboards and reports.
- Create and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Amazon QuickSight.
- Work closely with data analysts, engineers, and stakeholders to expose data to end users via well-structured datasets and visualizations.
- Provide knowledge sharing, documentation, mentoring and training support to team members.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-based database services such as AWS Redshift or Azure SQL Database.
- Familiarity with ETL processes and tools (e.g., AWS Glue).
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, star/snowflake schemas, and data pipelines.
- Strong working knowledge of self-service BI tools like QuickSight, Power BI, or Tableau.
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
