Welcome to Footsteps Nursery Lichfield Road! Here, we create a nurturing, nature-inspired environment for children aged 3 months to 5 years. Our spacious garden, engaging forest school sessions, and hands-on creative activities spark curiosity and support every stage of development. As a Room Leader , you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the care and development of our little ones. Working closely with a team of skilled practitioners, you will:

• Create a nurturing and safe environment that fosters physical, emotional, social, and intellectual growth.
• Implement a key person approach to help babies form secure attachments.
• Guide your colleagues in identifying training and development needs.
• Maintain high-quality learning journals and records using the EyLog and EyMan systems.
• Build positive relationships with parents, inviting them to participate in activities and keeping them informed about their child’s progress.
• Model professionalism, consistency, and impartiality, fostering respect among your team, parents, and children.
• Ensure compliance with the EYFS framework and uphold safety standards.

A passion for outdoor learning and a strong understanding of child development will be key to your success in this role!

Essential Qualifications & Skills:

• Full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Childcare (Essential)
• Previous experience working with babies under 2 years old
• A passion for the outdoors and outdoor learning, with enthusiasm for forest school activities
• Strong understanding of child development and the ability to provide purposeful learning experiences
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in working with parents and colleagues
• Knowledge of and commitment to safeguarding and child protection
