TSS is a trusted mechanical services provider specializing in commercial HVAC and facilities maintenance. We serve a diverse client base in the commercial, government, and industrial sectors. We're seeking a highly skilled Lead Facilities Maintenance / HVAC Mechanic to join our team and take charge of day-to-day operations, troubleshooting, and system efficiency.
Position Summary
The Lead Facilities Maintenance / HVAC Mechanic will oversee maintenance and repair operations for HVAC systems and facility infrastructure. This role requires strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
· • Perform and supervise maintenance, repair, and installation of HVAC systems including RTUs, split systems, boilers, and chillers.
· • Lead a small team of technicians and assign daily tasks and preventive maintenance duties.
· • Respond to service calls, diagnose issues, and ensure timely resolution.
· • Maintain plumbing, lighting, building envelope, and general facilities systems.
· • Monitor and report on system performance and recommend improvements.
· • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations.
· • Maintain records of inspections, repairs, and work orders.
· • Coordinate with contractors and vendors as needed.
· • Participate in after-hours/on-call rotation as required.
Qualifications
· • 5+ years of hands-on HVAC or commercial facility maintenance experience.
· • EPA Universal Certification required.
· • Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record.
· • Strong understanding of building mechanical systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
· • Proven ability to lead and mentor a team.
· • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
· • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
· • Must pass background check and drug screening (if applicable).
Preferred Qualifications
· • HVAC Journeyman or equivalent licensing/certification.
· • Experience with government or commercial contracts.
· • Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
