Payments Test Manager

Contract: Initial 6-Months contract

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Payments Test Manager to lead testing activities across large-scale payment processing initiatives. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality change within a dynamic payments environment, collaborating with both onshore and offshore teams.

• 
  
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a Test Management capacity
  
• Strong background in Payments transformation projects (essential)
  
• Experience with UK Faster Payments (highly advantageous)
  
• Exposure to ICON IPF and SWIFT messaging (preferred)
  
• Technical familiarity with MQ and API integrations
  
• Proven hands‑on experience with Jira and Confluence
  
• Demonstrated ability to lead distributed/offshore testing teams

• Define and implement end-to-end test strategies and approaches
  
• Develop detailed test plans, work breakdown structures, and resource models
  
• Provide accurate effort estimates, timelines, and resource forecasts
  
• Design low‑level test plans and manage environment planning
  

• 
  
• Own test delivery across one or more concurrent projects
  
• Drive all testing phases to ensure quality and schedule adherence
  
• Proactively monitor progress and resolve delivery blockers
  
• Oversee defect lifecycle management and ensure timely resolution
  
• Manage RAID logs with clear mitigation strategies
  
• Track and forecast testing costs and labour effort
  
• Manage resource allocation across parallel initiatives

• Manage test artefacts, execution, and reporting using Jira/Zephyr/Scale
  
• Produce meaningful metrics, KPIs, and executive‑level reporting

• Maintain comprehensive documentation within Confluence

• Collaborate closely with Project Managers, UAT, and NFT teams
  
• Communicate progress, risks, and milestones to senior stakeholders
  
• Lead, mentor, and support test analysts and team leads (onshore/offshore)
  
• Engage Automation Shared Services to enhance agile and automation practices
  

• 
  
• Oversee test environment usage, coordination, and upgrades
  
• Support dress rehearsals, deployment activities, and post‑go‑live validation
