Your mandate 

You will make strategic recommendations regarding infrastructure and housing for First Nations, based on the available overview of maintenance, update, and development of community infrastructure. The recommendations will be grounded in an analysis of community needs and aligned with cost estimates as well as available funding sources for their implementation. 

You will also be responsible for representing the FNQLSDI at events related to infrastructure and for actively participating in committees, meetings, and working groups. 
 

Main responsibilities 

  • Act as a contact on infrastructure and housing for communities and for the organization, leveraging your expertise to support all stakeholders 
  • Produce analytical reports in the form of recommendations, technical analyses, dashboards, and presentations related to the maintenance, update, and development of First Nations infrastructure and housing 
  • Provide strategic advisory support to senior management on First Nations infrastructure priorities, considering available funding to support their implementation 
  • Advise and support communities in assessing infrastructure and housing needs based on their maintenance, update, or development priorities, using rigorous diagnostics and objective criteria 
  • Maintain relationships with the AFNQL, First Nations organizations, government departments, and public agencies to support discussions related to mandates 

Do you have what it takes? 

  • Experience in infrastructure or housing project management, including cost estimation 
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field (engineering, urban planning, construction, public administration, or another relevant discipline) 
  • Strong knowledge of standards, regulations, and best practices related to infrastructure and buildings 
  • Availability to travel to communities across Quebec and Labrador as needed (approximately 6 to 10 times per year) 
  • Excellent communication skills both in French and English, spoken and written 
  • Strong analytical, communication, and writing skills 
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a variety of partners 
  • Strong organizational skills, autonomy, and attention to detail 
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
