About ICD Business School
Established in 2001 and located in the heart of Dublin, ICD Business School is a QQI-validated higher education institution committed to academic excellence, innovation, and student support. With a strong focus on quality assurance and continuous improvement, ICD delivers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes (NFQ Levels 8 & 9) that equip students to succeed in a dynamic, global environment.
ICD invites applications for the position of Quality Officer. This is a full‑time hybrid role for a candidate who will be expected to complete a proportion of their work at our campus in Dublin City, but the role offers high flexibility to work remotely too. This role offers a unique and exciting opportunity for an ambitious professional to further their career at a growing organisation which is proud to offer a personal and inclusive experience to all students. The successful candidate will work closely with academic faculty on the development and quality management of ICD’s portfolio of degrees, short courses, masters, and postgraduate programmes.
Reporting to the Head of Academic Development, Registrar, and Chief Executive at ICD Business School, you will have expertise and knowledge of quality assurance and enhancement in a higher education environment, and specialist knowledge pertaining to the quality management of Level 8 and 9 programmes on the Irish NFQ (National Framework of Qualifications). It is desired that the candidate will have experience working/studying in business/accounting/finance education settings. The Quality Officer will be responsible for assisting ICD in its duties to report to QQI regarding the college’s legal, regulatory, and statutory responsibilities.
The Quality Officer will help to coordinate quality assurance activities including meetings, monitoring of assessments, second‑marking (internal verification) and moderation of assessments, safeguarding related documentation.
This role will involve collecting data internally (e.g., surveys of students and colleagues) and externally, analysing this data, and using the findings to improve the college offering.
The Quality Officer role will provide the successful candidate with an opportunity to help manage the ICD Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) (Moodle), maintaining and updating the VLE, providing training to colleagues and students on how to use it effectively, and advising the college on how to enhance the online teaching, learning, and assessment environment. With technology‑enhanced education now a fundamental component of higher education, the Quality Officer will have an input into maintaining and enhancing the institution’s technological services including supporting colleagues in the use of technology for teaching, learning, assessment, and related activities. The successful candidate will provide training/lecturing to colleagues and students.
The Quality Officer role will afford the successful candidate lecturing opportunities so they can become fully embedded within the academic community. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new modules/programmes, improving existing modules/programmes, preparing and delivering lectures, planning and developing course content, setting and grading assessments, providing academic support to students, as well as completing all necessary administrative and quality assurance related tasks.
As a member of the ICD team, the successful candidate will have an opportunity to engage in various activities; promoting the college, supporting and mentoring colleagues, assisting students and colleagues to build the highest quality teaching, learning, and assessment environment, policy generation and implementation, and monitoring and enhancing organisational performance for the benefit of all members of the ICD community. The successful candidate will help ensure information management systems are secure, sustainable, and GDPR compliant.
The successful candidate will receive financial and non‑financial supports from the college to ensure their continuous professional development, including supports for continuing education and research. We are currently in a new phase of expansion and are excited to provide opportunities to energetic, hard‑working, flexible candidates who have a can‑do, problem‑solving attitude, and a dynamic and positive approach to getting work done to the highest possible quality including completion of ad hoc tasks as required by the needs of the organisation.
To be successful in this role, your experience in working with Zoom, spreadsheets, database management and Microsoft Office at an advanced level will be crucial. You will need to have a strong ability to work under pressure while consistently meeting deadlines in a fast‑paced work environment especially during peak periods. We’ll fully support you in your ability to manage your own workload, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently.
