Sr System Engineer

Position Overview: Our client is looking to add a Sr Embedded Software Engineer to their team in Goleta to support project work in the defense space:

Key Responsibilities: As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will: Provide systems engineering support for the design, development, integration, testing, and verification of highly complex electro-mechanical systems. Interface with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to create specifications for components and subsystems. Define hardware and software interfaces between various subsystems. Develop, test, analyze, and document turret fire control algorithms. Build linear and nonlinear dynamic models and simulations to assess system performance. Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams. Support lab and field testing of systems and components. Generate technical documentation including plans and reports. Occasional travel may be required. Qualifications:

Educational Background:

Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Control Systems and Signal Processing is required.

Experience:

5 to 10 years of industry experience in systems engineering. Strong understanding of classical and modern control system design principles. Proficiency in signal processing and data analysis. Hands-on experience working with the hardware and software components of electro-mechanical systems. Knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink for simulation and modeling tasks. Familiarity with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree with an emphasis in Control Systems and Signal Processing. Experience with turret fire control systems design, integration, and testing. Expertise in MATLAB/Simulink. Strong mathematical background. Active Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.
