Senior Internal Auditor

Cobalt are happy to share an exciting opportunity for an internal audit professional to join a growing financial services assurance team within a professional services environment. This role offers the chance to work with a varied client base, deliver high quality assurance and advisory work, and develop your expertise in a team that is continuing to invest and expand.

You will gain strong client exposure, work closely with experienced leaders, and have clear scope to progress as the practice scales.

• 
  
• Deliver internal audit and risk assurance assignments across financial services clients
  
• Lead audit fieldwork and support the supervision of junior team members
  
• Support planning activities including risk assessments scoping and audit programmes
  
• Assess control design and test operating effectiveness across key processes
  
• Produce clear reports with practical findings and recommendations
  
• Build relationships with client stakeholders and support day to day engagement
  
• Contribute to improving audit approaches templates and internal methodologies
  
• Stay current on regulatory expectations and industry developments relevant to financial services
  

• 
  
• 2 to 5 years experience in internal audit or risk assurance within financial services
  
• Exposure to EU or UK regulated environments is required
  
• Working towards or already holding ACA ACCA CIA CAMS CISA or an equivalent qualification
  
• Strong communication skills with a high standard of report writing
  
• Organised and comfortable managing multiple priorities
  
• Proactive mindset with an interest in building deeper financial services expertise
  
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior colleagues is beneficial xcfaprz
  
• Prior consulting or in house internal audit experience is a plus
