VCF (VMware Cloud Foundation) Presales lead

Ergo (VMware Partner of the Year 2023 UK & Ireland) have an exciting opportunity for customer-facing Pre‑Sales Consultant / Lead specialising in Broadcom VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF). This role partners with Sales, Architecture, and Delivery to run discovery, design solutions, and scope services engagements (workshops, assessments, implementations, upgrades, and operational services). The role spans opportunity qualification through to handover into delivery, ensuring technical and commercial clarity.

As a consultant you will execute discovery and contribute to designs and scopes under guidance owning standard artefacts and supporting proposals and demos.

In the Lead role you will be responsible for complex discovery, end-to-end solution shaping, services scoping and SOW creation while mentoring others and acting as technical authority.

This is a remote role although some travel to client sites (Ireland and UK) will be required.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  
• Lead and support customer discovery sessions and technical workshops.
  
• Design VMware Cloud Foundation solutions aligned to business outcomes.
  
• Scope and document professional services engagements (HLD/LLD, SOW inputs, assumptions, risks).
  
• Support proposals, RFPs, and sales engagements.
  
• Provide technical leadership across the VCF stack including vSphere, vSAN, NSX, and SDDC Manager.
  
• Ensure effective handover from pre-sales to delivery teams.
  
• Mentor engineers and contribute to practice enablement.
  

Required Skills & Experience

• 
  
• Strong experience designing and positioning VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF).
  
• Deep understanding of vSphere, vSAN, NSX, and lifecycle management via SDDC Manager.
  
• Proven customer-facing consulting or pre-sales experience.
  
• Excellent documentation, communication, and presentation skills.
  
• Ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities.
  

Education & Certifications

• 
  
• Degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.
  
• VMware / Broadcom VCF certifications (VCP-VCF Admin / Architect / Support preferred). xcfaprz
