TechOps Engineer

eir business talent have partnered with a fast‑moving teleco organisation in Malta.We are on the lookout for a TechOps Engineer to support and optimise critical systems in a fast‑paced telecom environment. You’ll troubleshoot complex issues, automate processes, enhance system performance, and work across a modern tech stack including Linux, Java applications, databases, and tools like Docker, Ansible, GitLab, Nagios, and Grafana. This role suits someone who thrives on problem‑solving, continuous learning, and keeping essential platforms running smoothly. There is a requirement to work onsite a 4 days per week in Malta.

• 
  
• Ensure availability, scalability, and monitoring of key systems
  
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues within SLAs
  
• Support Java applications and Linux‑based systems
  
• Perform black/grey box testing and report issues
  
• Automate tasks using scripting/programming languages
  
• Contribute to project delivery and continuous improvement
  
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and on‑call rotation
  

• 
  
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or similar
  
• 2+ years in System Engineering or DevOps
  
• Strong Linux experience
  
• Knowledge of RDBMS (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL is a plus)
  
• Familiarity with tools such as Docker, Ansible, GitLab, GrayLog, Nagios, Grafana
  
• Understanding of microservices and TCP/IP fundamentals
  
• Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills
