*About us*
Our goal is to provide patients and regional physicians with consultative, comprehensive cardiac and peripheral vascular care by board certified cardiovascular physicians, to be the Cardiac Center of Choice to Wyoming. We have been providing cardiovascular care since 1978.
We are seeking a *full-time* Cardiac Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team, overseeing the procedures and analysis of complex nuclear equipment. The ideal candidate has approximately one to two years of experience and is familiar with radiology procedures, as well as cardiology equipment and technology. This position also requires the capability to monitor nuclear medicine procedures, as well as interpret the results, process data, conduct research and create reports. The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently on a daily basis.
Responsibilities:
* Execute nuclear exam diagnostic tests for heart and vascular diseases.
* Obtain imaging data on patients.
* Perform analysis of data acquired from patients and equipment.
* Calculate doses of isotopes for diagnostic purposes.
* Contribute to the interpretation and presentation of data in the form of a written report to the referring physician.
* Participate in quality control activities and routine maintenance.
*Essential Functions:*
1. Comply with all safety and health standards, and all rules, regulations, and orders which are applicable to the individual’s own position, actions, and conduct.
2. Aid in assessing patient status.
3. Coordinate patient exams, patient information, including medical chart, charge slips.
4. Obtain needed patient information.
5. Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical exposure parameters accurately.
6. Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within accepted scope of practice, and applicable state/federal regulations.
7. Process diagnostic imaging procedures and records radiopharmaceutical administration to patients.
8. Apply radiation control measures.
9. May monitor the hemodynamic and cardiac status during diagnostic procedures.
10. Operates a variety of complex stationary and mobile diagnostic equipment.
11. Perform environmental safety checks as required. Performs quality assurance procedures on the equipment as required.
12. Organize and keep files of digital nuclear exams.
13. Perform various nuclear radiological procedures as directed and needed.
14. Operate all appropriate equipment as is needed to perform nuclear procedures.
15. Retrieve all supplies and equipment as needed or requested. Receives and records appropriate information regarding receipt of radioactive materials and pharmaceuticals. Maintenance and inventory of all supplies and equipment.
16. Ensures compliance with the radioactive materials licensure requirements.
17. Notify appropriate people of equipment failures.
18. Maintain current ACLS.
19. Maintain all licensures and certifications as required for position.
20. Maintains mandated continuing education requirements.
21. Maintain accreditation requirements for ICANL.
22. Perform other tasks as assigned or required.
Computer access is limited to job description duties and responsibilities (password changes every 90 days). A confidentiality agreement is signed by all employees of the practice.
_*QUALIFICATIONS:*_
1. ARRT Certification/Registration in good standing.
2. RT License with the State of Wyoming.
3. Current ACLS certification.
4. Previous experience in nuclear medicine, with a focus on cardiac exams.
5. Mental and physical health sufficient to meet the demands of the position.
6. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
7. Computer skills.
8. Ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner.
9. Intermittent physical mobility/activity including walking, standing sitting, lifting of minimum 25 lbs., pulling or pushing carts, equipment, etc. Must be able to bend body downward at the waist; must be able to kneel.
10. Vision must be within the normal range or corrected to 20/20.
EDUCATION: Accredited school of radiology technology and nuclear medicine technology.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of one-year cardiovascular nuclear exams.
REQUIREMENTS: Current Wyoming State RT license, registered by ARRT, BLS, and ACLS certification.
*Knowledge:*
1. Knowledge of nuclear medicine technology technical principles and procedures.
2. Knowledge of quality care standards for nuclear medicine.
3. Knowledge of safety requirements for staff, patients, and visitors.
*Skills:*
1. Skill in injecting radiopharmaceuticals intravenously for imaging procedures.
2. Skill in using computer network system competently to process patient and department information.
3. Skill in assuming responsibility for safety factors.
*Abilities:*
1. Ability to work in a cooperative nature within and outside department with staff, patients, and families.
2. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
3. Ability to explain procedures clearly and simply to patients.
*ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS:*
There is possibility of bodily harm from electrical shock from equipment/machinery, combative situations, exposure to toxic chemical agents, biohazards, radiation, communicable diseases, and fire.
*PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:*
Demands include manual dexterity, good eye/hand coordination, and normal hearing for daily work. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift. Frequently must have ability to lift 50 pounds. Must be able to hold patients in specific positions during procedures. There is occasional stress from dealing with tense patients. Employee must consistently demonstrate usage of proper body mechanics as required. Employee must be able to work 8 or more hours per shift. Must read, write, and speak English. Frequently must follow written and oral instructions as well as complete routine tasks independently.

Pay: $44.00 - $52.00 per hour
