Are you a QA professional who enjoys building automated test coverage, improving quality processes, and helping teams deliver reliable enterprise applications?
We are seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to support a major initiative focused on enhancing and modernizing a contract operations and reporting application used for agency contract management, monitoring, and compliance activities. This role is ideal for someone with strong hands-on experience in test automation, manual testing, performance testing, and Agile QA practices, and who can help drive quality across the full testing lifecycle.
This position will play a key role on the Software Quality Assurance team and will be responsible for developing and maintaining automated test cases using Playwright or similar tools, executing manual and automated testing, tracking defects, supporting UAT, and helping ensure quality across development, test, and production environments.
Role Overview
In this role, you will design and maintain automated tests, build and execute test cases, support reporting and traceability, and collaborate closely with development and business teams in an Agile environment. You will help improve testing processes, increase automation coverage, and support overall application reliability and compliance.
The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in QA automation, excellent testing discipline, and the ability to work independently on complex assignments while supporting both technical teams and end users.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain automated test cases using Playwright or similar automation tools
Create and maintain manual and automated test scripts for functional and regression testing
Execute manual testing as needed and track test case execution results
Determine test priorities, develop execution plans, and support test coverage across key scenarios
Establish and maintain automated test schedules and related reporting
Perform performance testing and support application quality improvements
Use Jira and related tools to log, track, and manage defects
Develop and maintain requirements traceability matrices
Work closely with development teams to support testing across development, test, UAT, and production environments
Troubleshoot test cases and support issue resolution as needed
Lead or support UAT testing activities
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the SDLC
Provide on-call support when needed
Required Qualifications
10+ years of experience in manual test script execution
8+ years of experience in automated QA testing
8+ years of experience creating QA test scripts
8+ years of experience in performance testing
5+ years of experience with QA automated test case reporting
5+ years of experience with JavaScript, HTML, Playwright, WebdriverIO, and JMeter
3+ years of experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
3+ years of experience with tools such as Jira, XRay, or Zephyr
3+ years of experience in accessibility testing
