JOB GOAL Responsible for the Project Management (PM) coordination districtwide in order to perform PM duties including status communications, task management, roadmap and dashboarding for PM communications. The goal is to lead the multiple projects and contribute to and help organize the Project Management Office (PMO) for overall project management in a high scope and complex workflow and automation environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES These requirements are a representation of the types of duties and responsibilities that will be required of positions given this title and shall not be construed as an exhaustive list of specific duties and responsibilities. Management may direct employees to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description. Independently leads, plans, organizes, directs and manages multiple complex technology projects/programs, including planning, controlling, risk mitigation, issue escalation, budgetary control, and execution of implementation activities. Prepares status reports and provides regular updates to project stakeholders, sponsors, governance groups. Closes out projects and collects lessons learned to improve PMO processes. Defines project objectives and develops business cases for proposed projects, including requirements elicitation, drafting project-related documents, creating time/resource estimates, cost estimates for proposed projects and change management of feature requests. As a recognized expert in Project Management, mentors and advises other IT resources and project managers on project management methodologies and practices. Identifies, defines and implements continuous improvement efforts within the PMO, and helps define standards, policies and practices. Monitors and handles security incidents and problems and holds a vote regarding the criticality assessment. Responds to project issues, concerns and will create recovery plans as needed for project roadmaps and timelines. Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS
Associate degree from a regionally accredited institution. Two years of direct experience (Computer Science, Information System, etc.) may substitute this experience. OR Four (4) years of related work experience and PMP certification or PM education certificate may be substituted for Associate degree. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Experience in Higher Education especially in areas of ERP, Applications, Infrastructure and Education Technology Experience with Project Management tools and methodologies including Waterfall, Sprint, Agile and Scrum familiarity Ability to manage Vendor Relationships Motivated Self Starter Team oriented and ability to work effectively in a team environment Excellent communication skills including technical writing and verbal communication Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as a team member Ability to work occasional evening hours and weekends Ability to maintain a valid Florida driver's license Ability to maintain reliable transportation for travel between college locations
