Accounting Manager

In Barden, we are delighted to be working on a confidential opportunity with a well‑established accountancy practice in Cork city that is continuing to invest in and grow its SME accounting team.

This firm is part of a wider professional services network while retaining a strong local identity and a close‑knit, collaborative working environment. The Cork office supports a broad and diverse SME client base across Munster and is known for its high‑quality client service, supportive culture and long‑term career opportunities. Hybrid working is in place, offering flexibility alongside strong team engagement.

This is a key role within the SME accounting team, ideal for an experienced Senior Accountant who enjoys managing a varied portfolio and working closely with Partners. You will take ownership of client relationships, contribute to the ongoing development of the team, and play a visible role as the firm enters its next stage of growth.

• 
  
• Preparing financial statements for SMEs, including companies, sole traders and partnerships
  
• Preparing and filing Corporation Tax and Income Tax returns
  
• Preparing and reviewing VAT, RCT and PAYE returns
  
• Managing CRO filings and statutory compliance
  
• Acting as a key point of contact for clients, providing clear and practical advice
  
• Supporting and mentoring junior team members
  

• 
  
• 3–5 years’ experience in general practice accounting
  
• ACA or ACCA qualified, or operating at senior part‑qualified level
  
• Comfortable managing xcfaprz a portfolio and dealing directly with clients
  
• Motivated by responsibility, autonomy and progression within a growing firm
