RecruitmentPlus are delighted to be partnering again with one of Ireland’s leading employers who are seeking a R&D Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Kingscourt. The Mechanical Engineer will join the research and development department, playing a key role in the on-going success and innovation of this global organisation while developing products with an eye to sustainability. The company is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer who can confidently speak with clients and assist with mentoring juniors and taking a lead on projects.

Requirements

  • Hold a ME or BEng level 8 in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role within industrial manufacturing.
  • A sound working knowledge of Solidworks & AutoCad.
  • Knowledge of FEA, ideally ANSYS, EN certification & regulatory compliance and extrusion tolerances for extruded component manufacturing.
  • Have a hands on approach in mechanical testing, building test rigs, experience fitting, using tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects through to completion, with excellent communication skills.
  • Open to national and overseas travel and hold full clean Irish/UK/EU licence.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Project manage new innovation and product design along with development of current product portfolio.
  • Analyse, review and record test and developmental data.
  • Work collaboratively with other engineers and departments.
  • Provide accurate reports, presentations and updates on project timeframes, achievements or challenges.
  • Operate in compliance with ISO 37301, 9001, company handbook and Code of Conduct.
  • Follow the appropriate EN standards and country codes for product development.
