Role Summary
The Solution Architect is a handson technical leader responsible for designing, building, and evolving cloudnative, AIfirst solutions for editorial and digital publishing platforms. This role actively participates in architecture, prototyping, and implementation on AWS while guiding teams toward scalable, secure, and modern solutions aligned with enterprise standards.
Key Responsibilities
Handson experience design and implementing solutions for complex business challenges. And implement endtoend AWS architectures for editorial platforms and AIenabled products.
Define and implement cloudnative and AIfirst patterns (microservices, EKS, serverless, managed AI services).
Actively contribute to proofs of concept, reference implementations, and architectural spikes.
Work closely with engineering, data, DevOps, and CloudOps teams to ensure solutions are deployable, operable, and productionready.
Architect and integrate AIdriven capabilities such as content intelligence, automation, personalization, and GenAI use cases.
Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, reliability, performance, and cost optimization requirements.
Perform architecture reviews, troubleshoot complex issues, and mentor engineers through handson guidance.
Required Qualifications
12+ years of experience in software engineering, cloud engineering, or solution architecture.
Well rounded experience in Architecting complex skills utilizing Modern technologies such as AWS managed services and AI /ML tools.
Proven experience building cloudnative platforms using containers, serverless, and APIdriven designs.
Working knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF or similar), applied pragmatically-not just documentation.
Exposure to AI/ML or GenAI integrations, including model consumption and managed AI services.
Experience with IaC and DevOps practices (Terraform, CI/CD pipelines).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with editorial or contentdriven platforms (publishing workflows, metadata, XML/HTML).
AWS Solutions Architect certification.
TOGAF or equivalent architecture certification.
Familiarity with RAG, vector databases, and intelligent workflows.
This role is based in our Washington, DC office and a reasonable rate of compensation for this position is between $160,000-$180,000 per year. ACS employees work a hybrid schedule, consisting of working onsite two days per work week, as decided by functional area. The balance of the week is open to working remotely, though employees are always welcome onsite each day if they choose.
