Job Description Summary
Full-time staff position reports to the Director of Information Technology. This position is responsible for maintaining and administering the College's ERP and related services, database maintenance, user accounts, document imaging and other related systems in support of the financial, administrative, and student records of the College. Other responsibilities include analyzing business needs as well as creating and providing tools to improve user processes. This position is expected to provide general technical support to keep College services running efficiently. This position will have direct access to confidential information that should not be disclosed directly or indirectly to others for any other purpose than to perform the essential duties of this position.

Minimum Qualifications
Educational Requirements:
Associate's degree in computer science, programming or a related field, or equivalent from a regionally accredited institution.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Education:
A Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics, information systems, computer programming, security, networking, or related field from a regionally accredited institution.
Preferred Work Experience:
- Experience with Envision, Colleague and UniData administration, Self Service, Informer, MS SQL Server, and SharePoint Farm Administration, Windows Server Management or willingness and ability to learn. . - Proficient in the configuration, administration, and management: Linux administration, Unidata database administration, Colleague, and Unibasic, the use of the financial, administrative and student records software used by the North Carolina Community College System or similar software. Proficient in use of productivity software and current Microsoft server software. - Experience in system analysis and design, system administration, and programming in a community college environment, supervisory experience, and effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills:
- High level of understanding of project management concepts. - Ability to communicate clearly, orally and in writing, and to function effectively in a team-oriented environment. - Ability to efficiently manage time and organize work so as to finish jobs by deadlines and within the work day. - Job function includes activities which may require the physical ability to sit for extended periods of time, bend, stoop, kneel, or stretch during equipment installations, and operate assigned equipment. - Understanding and appreciation of the community college mission.
Essential Duties
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs a variety of tasks which include, but are not limited to: • Responsible for administrative computer systems including applying patches and updates to these systems, writing custom programs, and reporting. • Communicate with the NCCCS System Office on issues related to these computer systems. • Configure users in a consistent manner on the Colleague, Self Service, Informer, e-Procurement and NCID systems and maintain the appropriate records. • Manage all projects in the Administrative Services area as directed by the Director of Information Technology. • Consult with the Director of Information Technology in developing appropriate procedures associated with technology usage. • Act as the IT departmental liaison for both the financial and IT auditors. • Ensure systems are recoverable in case of a disaster. Perform and maintain reliable backups and maintain a business continuity plan for Colleague and e-Procurement systems. • Determine and resolve college's ERP system problems as they relate to hardware, software, application files, and audit controls. • Analyze and maintain security procedures relating to hardware, software, and application files for the administrative computer system. • Train users in the mechanics of administrative software and prepare user documentation for administrative computer systems. • Work with HR to train new employees in Colleague and e-Procurement. • Determine fiscal requirements for the administrative and web system and prepare budgetary recommendations to the Director of Information Technology. • Maintain supplies used with Linux and other systems. • Actively participate in staff development workshops, staff and college-wide meetings, and serve on various college committees. • Maintain accurate and organized records to comply with audit and Vice President of Administrative Services information needs. • Deliver positive high-quality internal and external customer service and team interactions. • Maintain clean, organized area, including computer system facilities and related storage areas. • Attend technology training and conferences as necessary to remain current and as determined by the Director of Information Technology. • Perform other duties as assigned.
FLSA Exempt
Estimated Hours per Week 40 Hours Per Week / Some evening and weekend hours may be required.
Salary $55,000 - $68,000 Based on the College's salary plan and commensurate with education and relevant work experience.
