Position Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our team supporting critical LAN and Wi-Fi infrastructure. This onsite role offers a dynamic hybrid work schedule (currently reporting to the office 4 days per week) and involves troubleshooting, supporting, and maintaining network connectivity for enterprise environments. You will independently manage assigned tasks, resolve network issues, and collaborate with Tier 1 and Tier 3 teams to ensure smooth network operations. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates excellent problem-solving skills, and is committed to continuous learning and technological advancement.
Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and resolve LAN and Wi-Fi connectivity issues involving switches, routers, and cabling. Manage and resolve trouble tickets using ServiceNow. Document troubleshooting steps, solutions, and network configurations for future reference. Support Tier 1 help desk in diagnosing LAN-related problems and escalate issues as needed. Provide Tier 2 support for escalated LAN incidents and service requests. Collaborate with Tier 3 LAN engineers on complex network issues. Maintain network security standards and ensure best practices are followed. Manage multiple projects efficiently, meet deadlines, and prioritize workload independently. Assist with supporting wireless solutions such as Cisco Meraki, HPE Aruba, Juniper Mist, and Fortinet. Required Skills/Education:
3-7 years of professional experience in network support and troubleshooting. Proficiency with LAN protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, VLANs, Spanning Tree). Experience with LAN and wireless solutions from Cisco, HPE Aruba, Juniper, Fortinet, and others. Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar ticketing platforms. Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities, especially at Layer 1 and 2. Knowledge of LAN security protocols and standards. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Relevant networking certifications (Cisco or equivalent) are preferred. Associate degree or equivalent experience; additional years of related experience may substitute for a degree.
