Job Summary:

We are seeking a technical expert with a robust background in Electric Power Design Institutes to drive the R&D of innovative services for PV power plants. This role focuses on bridging the gap between engineering design, grid integration, and marketized power trading. The successful candidate will develop cutting-edge assessment methodologies for PV&Storage&Charging systems, lead technical due diligence for complex assets, and establish new standards for system reliability and revenue optimization in a volatile market environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Service Innovation and System R&D:

  • Lead the R&D of innovative service products focusing on PV power plant full-lifecycle value, including advanced performance ratio (PR) evaluation and aging asset repowering solutions.
  • Develop technical assessment models for "PV+Storage+Charging" integrated systems, addressing challenges in energy management (EMS) efficiency and system-level safety.
  • Create specialized evaluation protocols for diverse application scenarios such as inshore PV, BIPV, and high-altitude stations, ensuring technical robustness in complex environments.

2.Marketized Trading Advisory:

  • Develop technical models to predict and analyze energy yield and revenue risks under the marketized power pricing framework.
  • Conduct sophisticated technical due diligence and design reviews for large-scale utility projects and distributed portfolios, identifying systemic risks from an engineering perspective.
  • Support investors by quantifying the technical value of high-quality assets to mitigate the impact of regional price fluctuations and grid curtailment.

3.Standardization and Grid Compliance:

  • Represent the company in national and international technical committees to develop standards for grid-forming inverters and grid-code compliance.
  • Monitor regional policy variations and integrate these insights into global technical service protocols.

4.Strategic Business Enablement:

  • Productize complex engineering solutions into standardized consulting services for financial institutions, EPCs, and energy groups.
  • Collaborate with global technical teams to enhance export standards for China’s PV systems, ensuring alignment with international quality and bankability requirements.
  • Provide technical support in developing metrics that demonstrate the long-term ROI of premium technical designs over low-cost alternatives.

Qualifications and Requirements:

1.Education:

A Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Power Systems, Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a closely related field.

2.Technical Knowledge and Skills:

  • A minimum of 3 years of core experience in an Electric Power Design Institute or a major power generation group's design department.
  • Proven expertise in PV system design, grid connection simulation, and power system stability analysis.
  • Proficiency in professional software such as PVSyst, AutoCAD, and power system simulation tools (e.g., DigSILENT, PSS/E, or ETAP).
  • Deep understanding of the marketized trading mechanisms and the technical requirements for integrated PV-storage-charging systems.

3.Professional Abilities:

  • Excellent command of English (both written and spoken) for seamless collaboration within TÜV Rheinland’s global expert network.
  • Strong capability to transform complex engineering concepts into marketable technical services.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with a focus on risk management and asset optimization.
  • Outstanding communication skills to engage with high-level stakeholders, including government bodies, grid operators, and institutional investors.
  • A proactive mindset toward industry "High-Quality Development" and technical leadership.
  • Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany
