Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Network Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of our organization's network infrastructure. This role requires a proactive problem solver with a deep understanding of network architecture and best practices to ensure high availability, security, and performance.

Duties and Responsibilities

Design, deploy, and maintain secure and scalable network solutions, including VPN, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, and cloud network and storage. Deploy, manage, and optimize virtual environments on-premises and in the cloud. Monitor and troubleshoot network performance, ensuring high availability and reliability. Develop strategies for the storage, backup, and archival of all enterprise data including third-party applications. Configure and manage network hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, and access points. Implement and maintain network security measures and encryption protocols in collaboration with security and business partners. Conduct regular network assessments, vulnerability tests, and audits. Collaborate with IT teams to support servers, storage, and enterprise applications. Manage Microsoft 365 environments including Entra, Defender, Intune, SharePoint, etc. Manage and maintain network documentation, including topology diagrams and configuration details. Lead network-related projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and management. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to make recommendations for network improvements. Respond to and resolve network incidents and outages promptly. Ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry regulations (HIPAA, NIST, etc.). Evolve in your role when performing supplemental responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications

Requirements and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field or Associates degree plus 5 years preferred. Proven experience (3+ years) as a network administration, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role or in a similar role required. Network certifications preferred. Proficiency in configuring and managing enterprise-level networking hardware (Cisco Meraki, Aruba, or similar). In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs. Expertise in data protection, backup, and recovery (Veeam. Cloudflare, etc.) Skilled with administration and implementation of network monitoring and management tools (PRTG, SolarWinds, Wireshark, etc.). Skill in managing virtual environments with VMware and other desktop virtualization tools. Strong understanding of network security practices and technologies. Understanding of cloud networking and storage solutions (AWS, Azure, etc.). Familiarity with creating/managing interfaces with application partners. Physical Demands

Manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination to enter data and operate office equipment. Corrected vision and hearing within normal range to observe and communicate with patients, providers, and staff. Frequently remaining in a stationary position, often sitting for prolonged periods working on a computer, telephone, copy/fax machine, and other office equipment. Occasional standing and walking required. Occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Excelsior Orthopaedics is a multi-specialty orthopedic practice that has been providing comprehensive care since 2002. We have multiple locations throughout the Western New York region and a free-standing ambulatory surgery center, Buffalo Surgery Center. Excelsior Orthopaedics offers a suite of in-house services including general orthopaedic evaluation and treatment, podiatry, physical & occupational therapy, nutrition counseling, sports training, outreach athletic training, orthopaedic express care, imaging, durable medical equipment, and an outpatient total joint program. Buffalo Surgery Center provides surgical and procedural treatments for orthopaedic, pain and spine, podiatry, total joint replacement, and gastrointestinal patients. The pay range for this position is determined based on several factors, including the candidate's years of experience, qualifications, training, licenses, designations, and the overall market conditions.
