We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Technical Support Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The successful candidate will provide expert assistance to our clients and internal teams, resolving technical issues efficiently across a range of hardware and software platforms. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your technical expertise in a fast-paced environment, ensuring optimal system performance and customer satisfaction.
*Responsibilities*
* Deliver comprehensive technical support via phone, email, and remote access tools, assisting users with hardware and software issues.
* Troubleshoot and resolve problems related to computer networking, operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), and computer hardware components.
* Assist with software troubleshooting, including applications such as Microsoft Office, VPNs, firewalls, and enterprise tools like BMC Remedy, ServiceNow, and Jira.
* Support desktop support activities by configuring, maintaining, and upgrading user workstations and peripherals.
* Manage network connectivity issues involving LAN configurations and connectivity troubleshooting.
* Document support requests and resolutions accurately using ticketing systems such as BMC Remedy or ServiceNow.
* Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide clear guidance on technical solutions.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to escalate complex issues and ensure timely resolution.
*Requirements*
* Proven experience in technical support or IT support roles with a strong understanding of computer networking concepts.
* Proficiency in troubleshooting software issues across multiple operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
* Familiarity with network security components such as VPNs and firewalls.
* Experience supporting hardware components and peripherals in a professional environment.
* Knowledge of help desk ticketing systems like BMC Remedy, ServiceNow or Jira.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks effectively.
* Customer service orientation with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Additional desirable skills include experience with LAN setup, operating system installation/configuration, desktop support procedures, and familiarity with IT service management tools.
