We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join our logistics team in Nashville, Tennessee. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role is vital to the smooth functioning of our warehouse operations and the broader logistics network. The ideal candidate will have a strong safety record, exceptional maneuvering skills, and a comprehensive understanding of warehouse procedures. You will ensure that all goods are handled with care and transported accurately to their destinations. Daily equipment checks and adherence to safety regulations, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), are critical components of this position. This role involves considerable manual lifting and the physical demands of operating heavy machinery. Your contribution is key to maintaining our high standards in logistics and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts to load and unload materials from trucks and racks.
- Transport inventory to and from various locations within the warehouse.
- Stack and retrieve merchandise efficiently and safely.
- Conduct pre-shift inspections of forklifts and report any issues.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock organization.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following all regulations.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure efficient logistics flow.
- Strictly adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including PPE usage.
- Perform tasks involving significant manual lifting and material handling.
- Follow all shipping and receiving protocols.
Qualifications:
- Certified Forklift Operator with proven experience.
- Excellent understanding of forklift operation and safety protocols.
- Ability to perform frequent lifting and physical tasks.
- Knowledge of warehouse logistics and inventory control.
- Commitment to safety and consistent use of PPE.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and possessing a strong work ethic.
