We are seeking a skilled and reliable Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in Salt Lake City, Utah. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role is crucial to the efficient operation of our warehouse and the overall logistics chain. You will be expected to perform all tasks with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring the safe and timely movement of goods. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe operation, excellent maneuvering skills, and a strong understanding of warehouse procedures. Attention to safety is paramount in this role, as you will be working in a busy environment with other team members and equipment. You will also be responsible for performing routine checks on your forklift to ensure it is in good working condition and reporting any issues immediately. This position involves significant lifting and the ability to safely handle various types of products. Adherence to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is mandatory.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to load and unload trucks, move materials, and transport goods within the warehouse.
- Perform pre-operational checks on forklifts and report any maintenance issues.
- Organize and stack merchandise in designated areas, ensuring proper placement and stability.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Follow all shipping and receiving procedures.
- Collaborate with other warehouse staff to ensure smooth workflow and efficient logistics.
- Understand and follow all safety guidelines, including the correct use of PPE.
- Ability to handle tasks involving significant lifting and moving of items.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator with valid certification.
- Excellent knowledge of forklift operation and safety procedures.
- Ability to perform manual lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to PPE requirements.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
