Seeking a skilled Material Handler for our state-of-the-art facility in Richmond, Virginia. This role is vital to our logistics network, focusing on the efficient movement and organization of materials within the warehouse. You will be responsible for operating various types of material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and reach trucks, to transport, store, and retrieve goods. Maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring the safe handling of all materials are key aspects of this position. Our commitment to safety means that all employees must strictly follow guidelines and utilize provided PPE. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring accurate inventory counts and proper handling.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas within the warehouse.
- Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy through proper stocking and rotation.
- Perform routine checks on material handling equipment to ensure operational readiness.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Assist with receiving and shipping operations as directed.
- Conduct regular inspections of the work area to ensure it is clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Support logistics team in managing material flow and storage.
- Perform tasks that involve significant physical exertion, including lifting up to 70 pounds.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proficiency in operating various types of material handling equipment.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including frequent lifting.
- Excellent understanding of safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Reliable and committed to meeting performance expectations.
