We are seeking a diligent and energetic Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in Detroit, Michigan. As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in the efficient movement of goods within our warehouse. Your responsibilities will include receiving, processing, and distributing materials and products. Key Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading materials from trucks and other vehicles.
- Transporting materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
- Accurately identifying and verifying incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Maintaining an organized and clean work area, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.
- Performing regular equipment checks to ensure proper functioning and reporting any maintenance needs.
- Assisting with inventory counts and stock management as needed.
- Adhering to all company policies and procedures, especially those related to safety and material handling.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Ability to perform strenuous physical activity, including frequent bending, stooping, and constant standing and walking.
- Proficiency in operating material handling equipment; certification is a plus.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics principles.
- Commitment to workplace safety, including the proper use of PPE.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling materials.
- Must be able to perform tasks involving significant Lifting (up to 50 lbs regularly).
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
