We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role is crucial for ensuring the timely and accurate dispatch of our products to customers nationwide. The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for preparing outgoing shipments, verifying order accuracy, and maintaining shipping records. You will work closely with warehouse staff and carriers to coordinate smooth loading and transportation processes. Strong organizational skills and a commitment to safety are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and process incoming shipments.
- Verify the accuracy of outgoing orders against shipping documents.
- Prepare and package items for shipment, ensuring proper labeling and protection.
- Operate shipping software to generate labels and track shipments.
- Coordinate with carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate inventory records related to shipping activities.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and warehouse procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding shipping status and any issues.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or a similar logistics role preferred.
- Familiarity with shipping software and carrier portals.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
