We are seeking a diligent and organized Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in San Francisco, California. This role is crucial for ensuring the accurate and timely dispatch of goods to our customers and partners. The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for preparing, documenting, and coordinating shipments, managing shipping supplies, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. You will work closely with warehouse staff, carriers, and customer service representatives to resolve any shipping-related issues. Attention to detail is paramount in this position to prevent errors and ensure customer satisfaction. Responsibilities:
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against purchase orders and invoices.
- Prepare shipping labels, packing slips, and other necessary documentation.
- Operate shipping software and systems to track shipments and generate reports.
- Communicate with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Inspect packages for damage and ensure proper packaging to prevent loss or damage during transit.
- Maintain an organized and well-stocked shipping supply area.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, especially regarding safety and handling of materials.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock organization as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and documentation requirements.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or logistics is preferred.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills, including email and data entry.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and inventory management systems is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
