We are seeking a meticulous and organized Receiving Clerk to join our Sacramento, California warehouse team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and documenting all goods entering our facility. Your work is crucial for maintaining accurate inventory levels and ensuring that all products meet our quality standards. This position requires a strong understanding of logistics processes and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The ability to manage physical inventory, which may involve lifting, is essential. You will work closely with suppliers, warehouse staff, and management to ensure efficient and accurate receiving operations. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the smooth functioning of our supply chain and logistics operations.
Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming shipments from trucks.
- Inspect goods for damage and verify quantities against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Accurately record all received items into the inventory management system.
- Identify and report any discrepancies, damages, or shortages.
- Organize and stage received goods for put-away into storage locations.
- Operate pallet jacks and other receiving equipment as needed.
- Ensure that the receiving area is kept clean, organized, and safe.
- Adhere to all company safety protocols and use required PPE.
- Coordinate with shipping departments to ensure timely flow of goods.
- Assist with inventory audits and reconciliation as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience as a Receiving Clerk or in a similar warehouse role is strongly preferred.
- Ability to perform lifting up to 60 lbs.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and logistics operations.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
