Our Philadelphia, Pennsylvania facility is seeking a meticulous Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team. This position plays a crucial role in managing the flow of goods into our warehouse, ensuring accuracy and efficiency from the start. As a Receiving Clerk, your primary duties will include unloading incoming shipments, carefully inspecting products for damage or discrepancies, verifying quantities against purchase orders, and accurately documenting all received items in our inventory system. You will be responsible for the organized and safe placement of goods within the warehouse. A keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to safety are essential. We provide comprehensive training on warehouse procedures, safe handling, and all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Responsibilities:
- Unload freight from delivery trucks in a safe and timely manner.
- Inspect incoming goods for any damages or discrepancies against shipping documents.
- Verify the accuracy of received items with purchase orders and packing lists.
- Record all received inventory into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Label and tag all items appropriately for tracking and storage.
- Stage received goods for put-away or further processing.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free receiving area.
- Collaborate with other warehouse staff to ensure efficient inbound logistics.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory control tasks such as cycle counts.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse receiving or clerk role is preferred.
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and verification.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and barcode scanners.
- Understanding of warehouse safety standards and practices.
- Willingness to wear and utilize required PPE.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Good communication and problem-solving capabilities.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
