The Network
Engineer III
is a senior technical contributor responsible for the engineering, operations, and advanced troubleshooting of the company's enterprise infrastructure. This individual serves as the highest level of engineering escalation and plays a key role in designing and implementing
scalable, secure, and highly available network solutions
across corporate offices, data centers, and cloud environments. The Network Engineer III partners closely with infrastructure, security, and cloud teams to support business operations and technology initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Engineering
Design and implement enterprise network solutions across
LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and data center environments
Develop scalable architectures to support
high availability, performance, and resiliency
Lead the deployment of routing, switching, and network security technologies
Advanced Troubleshooting
Serve as Tier 3 escalation for complex network incidents and outages
Perform deep packet and flow analysis and root cause investigations
Resolve issues related to routing, latency, connectivity, and network performance
Network Operations Support
Support operational teams with complex network troubleshooting
Participate in major incident response and post-incident reviews
Assist with capacity planning and performance optimization
Infrastructure Modernization
Lead upgrades and modernization projects such as:
SD-WAN deployments
Network segmentation initiatives
Cloud network integration
Data center network upgrades
Documentation & Standards
Maintain architecture diagrams and technical documentation
Establish configuration standards and best practices
Support change management and operational procedures
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with:
Security teams
on segmentation, compliance, and risk management
Cloud teams
on hybrid and multi-cloud networking
Application teams
to ensure performance, scalability, and reliability
Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
Governance & Standards
Maintain architecture documentation, diagrams, and runbooks
Participate in governance forums (CAB, architecture review boards)
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve:
Network resiliency and performance
Operational simplicity and automation
Lead proof-of-concepts (POCs) and pilot programs
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field
7+ years of experience in network engineering
Hands-on experience with:
Routing & switching (BGP, OSPF, MPLS)
Data center networking (leaf-spine, EVPN/VXLAN)
WAN / SD-WAN architectures
Network security, segmentation, and firewalls
Hands-on experience with:
Cisco (ACI), Aruba
Fortinet / Palo Alto
F5 (load balancing)
Infoblox (DNS/DHCP/IPAM)
Experience designing
large-scale, multi-site or retail networks
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications such as (any of the following):
Cisco professional certifications
Palo Alto professional certifications
Fortinet professional certifications
Aruba professional certifications
F5 professional certifications
Key Competencies
Advanced troubleshooting skills
Ability to mentor junior engineers
Strong documentation and communication skills
Success Metrics
Review and validate enterprise network diagrams and documents within
90 days
Participate in delivery of key transformation initiatives:
Retail store network modernization
Data center transformation
Reduce network-related incidents through improved support workflow
Improve cost efficiency via standardization and vendor optimization
