The Salesforce Developer (Banking) is responsible for building and maintaining enterprise-grade solutions on the Salesforce platform, specifically leveraging the Financial Services Cloud (FSC) data model. This role focuses on automating the customer and advisor journey—from onboarding and KYC to complex loan approvals—while ensuring total compliance with financial regulations and data privacy standards.


Key Banking-Specific Responsibilities

  • FSC Implementation: Build custom features within the Financial Services Cloud framework, managing specialized objects like Financial Accounts, Households, and Relationship Groups.
  • Core Banking Integration: Design and maintain secure REST/SOAP APIs and middleware connections (e.g., MuleSoft) between Salesforce and legacy \"System of Record\" banking platforms.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement advanced security protocols, including Shield Platform Encryption , Field Audit Trails, and strict Role-Based Access Controls (RBAC) to protect PII and meet GDPR/FINTRAC standards.
  • Complex Automation: Develop high-performance Apex Triggers , Asynchronous Apex (Batch, Queueable), and sophisticated Flows to handle large-scale data processing for transactions and credit assessments.
  • Advisor UI/UX: Create high-performance, mobile-ready interfaces using Lightning Web Components (LWC) to provide advisors with a \"single pane of glass\" view of client portfolios.
  • DevOps & Governance: Manage deployments through rigorous CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Copado, Azure DevOps) with a focus on unit testing and automated quality gates to prevent downtime in 24/7 banking services.


Required Technical Skills

  • Languages: Expert-level Apex , SOQL/SOSL , and JavaScript (specifically for LWC).
  • FSC Mastery: Deep understanding of the FSC managed package, including Actionable Relationship Center (ARC) and Life Events .
  • Data Architecture: Ability to design scalable data models that handle millions of records without hitting platform governor limits.
  • Integration Patterns: Proficiency in event-driven architecture and real-time synchronization using Platform Events or Change Data Capture (CDC).


Preferred Banking Certifications

  • Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I & II (Required)
  • Salesforce Certified Financial Services Cloud Accredited Professional (Highly Preferred)
  • Salesforce Certified Integration Architecture Designer
  • Salesforce Certified Sharing and Visibility Architect (Critical for banking security)
