Radar System Engineer SAR (m/f/d)

OHB System AG is a large system integrator in Europe and contractor for space-based radar missions and development programs for future earth observation and security missions. In this context, we are looking for an experienced Radar System Engineer to support the Space Data Systems- and Development Program team in Salem.

• Definition, generation, implementation and improvement of SAR algorithms for both satellite- and ground segment L0 to L2 data productprocessors
• Development of test tools and data simulations to support the development of the next generation SAR processors and -algorithms
• Definition, testing, evaluation, and refinement of SAR processors and -products in ongoing satellite missions and upcoming projects from phase A/B until phase E
• Support the project management in reviews, technical- and project milestones
• Support the satellite-, instrument- and ground segment teams with feedback and pragmatic solutions to minimize risks, optimize performance and drive innovation
• Ensure technical information exchange and networking within project team, with internal functional and technical departments and external entities

• Completed studies in mathematics, physics, electronics, aerospace-engineering or similar qualification
• Significant experience as radar system engineer (m/f/d) with synthetic aperture radar (SAR) or similar positions in comparable projects
• Very good technical and analytical skills
• Used to work with process standards such as ECSS-E-ST-40C and ECSS-Q-ST-80C
• Extensive experience in SAR- algorithms development and data processing from L0 to L2 SAR products. Participation in space projects from phase A/B until phase E are a plus.
• Experience with SAR- reflector- and/or phased-array technologies are a big plus
• Programming skills in C++, knowledge in IDL and Python are a plus
• Strong competence in self-organizing and work planning
• High motivation, pro-active working approach, and strong sense of responsibility
• Very good team working skills and motivation capabilities
• Willingness to consciously learn and broaden your experience
• Good language skills in written and spoken German and English
