We are looking for a highly organized and analytical Inventory Control Specialist to manage and maintain the accuracy of our warehouse inventory in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our logistics operations run smoothly by tracking stock levels, conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing improvements to inventory processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS), excellent problem-solving skills, and a keen eye for detail. You will play a critical role in minimizing inventory loss, optimizing stock rotation, and supporting efficient order fulfillment. A commitment to safety and best practices in logistics management is paramount.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate inventory records within the WMS.
- Monitor stock levels and report on aging or slow-moving inventory.
- Implement and enforce inventory control policies and procedures.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of all inventory items.
- Coordinate with other departments regarding inventory needs and adjustments.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control or warehouse management.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other inventory software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to perform occasional Lifting (up to 30 lbs).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Understanding of general logistics and supply chain principles.
- Must wear required PPE, including safety vests and appropriate footwear.
